So that 5k race I ran in the middle of my 12 miles on Saturday? The one where I didn't even run as fast as I could?
Yeah, apparently no one else in my age group did, either. I won the AG (35-39). By almost 4 minutes.
Seriously?
It wasn't even a fast race for me! The top two women in the next AG up beat me by more than 3 minutes! This is how I get my first AG win? Crazy.
I wonder what the prize was...

Congrats - a win is a win! Call and tell them you want your prize!
Sometimes it happens like that, I should know. :)
Congrats!
A win is a win. Be proud of it...especially since it was in the middle of a run. Congrats.
That is GREAT! Much better than expecting to win and getting edged off of the podium or thinking you won and finding out later there was a timing problem. Getting surprised with good news is always better than the other way around.
Awesome!
Call and find out what the award was, maybe it'll be a nice gift certificate!
Good job!!!!
That's so awesome! So many folks said above tha a "win is a win" and I'm another believer in that statement! Congrats to you!!!
The prize is bragging rights and a boost to your ego! You've worked hard, enjoy it.
Nice work Lora!!!
Congrats!!!
Nice work, no matter how you got the win, a "W" is a "W".
Thanks, everyone!
Just a follow-up: the prize was, apparently, just a certificate which they'll mail to me. No big deal -- I'm just surprized with the placing! :D
What the prize actually is is of no matter. The important thing is the accomplishment.
Thanks, Kevin :D
And clearly I'm so thrilled by this win that I can't spell correctly or think of a better word than "just".
Duh.
To answer your question...the current plan is 4 days of running for the first two weeks, then 5 days running from there until race day.
