I haven't run over 18 miles since my last marathon
I haven't trained to run a solid 26.2
I am going to be partying with my friends all weekend
26.2 miles is a far way to run
I shouldn't do it.
But I'm really consumed with the idea of running the full at OBX this coming weekend instead of the half.
I don't even know that I could switch, because it's probably sold out.
I really shouldn't even be thinking about it.

Don't do it. There are will be other marathons you can run and be properly trained for. Stick to the half.
The full is not sold out... just sayin' ;)
I think it depends on what your goal would be. If its just to do one more marathon this year, then do it. For fun. But if your expectation/hope is to smash your previous times, then it seems like training specifically for one (even if its still this year) is a must.
Do the Pig with me on 5/2/10!! We would probably be running about the same pace. It would be super fun!
i don't really think there's that much difference between training for a 13.1, 18.6 or 26.2 mile race. really. And if there is, it's ALWAYS better go into a race under trained than over trained. this way, there's very little chance you'll be over trained.
